Details
The Double Dealer is a clip system blaster that holds two clips at a time; the blaster fires two darts at a time, one from each loaded clip. It has two tactical rails and an integrated shoulder stock that can store two extra clips. The blaster can be slam fired.
Unlike other multi-fire blasters, the Double Dealer can only fire one dart at time, as it lacks a multi-step trigger. It also only has a single plunger system instead of two.
Official description
In a post-apocalyptic future, the Earth is left a barren, lawless wasteland. Out of the ashes, a lone hero emerges to bring justice to a doomed land. This is the world of Doomlands! Hand out a double dose of law and order with the Double Dealer blaster. Fire 2 darts at a time from this 24-dart capacity blaster, and unleash a barrage of darts with slam-fire action. With its two 12-dart clips, the blaster can deal out a double dozen darts, blanketing the lawless with a barrage of firepower. Comes with 24 Elite darts.
Reliability
The reliability is highly questioned, as some units have had severe jamming issues. These generally occur while firing quickly, i.e. while slam firing. On top of this, the blaster is also underpowered. The plunger is a fairly large size but the spring is weak. Another issue is that there is a huge slot cut into the bottom of the plunger tube and it serves no real purpose other than to kill performance. There is a plastic peg attached to the plunger rod that moves through this slot, presumably to help guide the rod but it is unknown why that is necessary when the rod is perfectly guided just by the stopper in front of the catch.[1]
History
The Double Dealer was first announced in January 2016 by Popular Mechanics.[2]
Trivia
- Besides the two twelve dart clips and the jam door, the current design for the Double Dealer doesn’t have any clear external parts like the rest of the blasters in this line. It is the first Doomlands 2169 blaster to not have this feature.
- This is the third blaster to use multiple clips at once, after the Rhino-Fire, which uses two twenty-five dart drums, and the Hail-Fire, which can use up to eight non-drum clips.
